My Story
The Business I Built Between Appointments, IEPs, and Bedtime (Part 2)
In early 2024, I stumbled across a YouTube video from Sarah Noked’s OBM School—and it stopped me in my tracks. The role of an Online Business Manager felt like the next evolution of the work I was already doing as a Virtual Assistant. I joined her Facebook community, started following her content, and quickly became fascinated by the possibilities.
I was ready to dive in. But, as is often the case in a household like mine, life at home needed my full attention for a while. So I tucked the idea away, letting it simmer in the back of my mind as I quietly kept tabs on the OBM world through social media.
Then in January 2025, Sarah announced her free OBM Week—a three-day introduction to becoming an Online Business Manager—and I knew the timing was finally right. I already had the foundational skills and the hands-on experience. OBM Week lit the spark and gave me the clarity and momentum I needed to make the leap.
At the same time, I was also rebranding my business. After two years of steady growth as a VA, I realized I had never fully invested in my brand identity. I wanted a cohesive look—an intentional logo, a clear message, a polished website that truly reflected who I was and what I offered. That rebranding effort aligned perfectly with my pivot to OBM services.
Following OBM Week, I enrolled in a more in-depth program that offered practical tools and strategies for building a real OBM business—including how to update my website. I hired a graphic designer who brought my vision to life with a logo I absolutely love. Over the next few months, all the pieces started to fall into place. By April—my birthday month—I officially launched my OBM business, and it felt like the perfect celebration of how far I’ve come.
